I love to prepare various dishes, and though not on the "Cooking Blogs", I do have a flair for preparing some tasty dishes.
When I look back on our lives, I am able to hear the loud clatter of competing voices for our attention. eg. Television, music, traffic, etc.
When Elijah went to the Mount of Horeb, he thought that God would appear to him in a great and powerful wind that tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper, and God spoke to Elijah in that still small voice. (1 Kings 19:11-13)
Today, God is speaking to each one of us, His children, through His Word in the Bible. Before we were born, God set us apart (Jeremiah 1:5) God assures us, that "He will be a Father to us, and we will be His sons and daughters“(2 Corinthians 6:18)
God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord." (2 Corinthians 16-18).
Let us,
therefore, take heed to the voice of our beloved Heavenly Father, separate
ourselves from the distractions of the world, and seek Him with all our hearts,
leaning not on our own understanding, in all our ways acknowledging Him and He
will set our paths straight.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your guidance through Your Word, that is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, as we journey through life meandering in the many twists and turns, yet growing from strength and glory to glory, as we keep our eyes fixed on You Lord, You enable us to see our way one step and one day at a time, firmly on the rock, so that our ankles do not turn, and we come safely into Your presence for all eternity. Its in Jesus' Name that we pray. Amen.
